The Penland Benefit Auction is a gala weekend in the North Carolina mountains featuring the sale of over 240 works in books, clay, drawing, glass, iron, letterpress, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles, and wood. The Penland auction is one of the most important craft collecting events in the Southeast and a perfect opportunity to support Penland's educational programs, which have helped thousands of people live creative lives. 

Registration is now open for the 32nd Annual Penland Benefit Auction on August 11 and 12, 2017.

2017 Featured Artists

We are proud to announce that furniture designer and metalworker Vivian Beer will be this year's featured artist. Vivian was a Penland resident artist from 2005 to 2008 and will return to campus this summer to teach a session 5 iron workshop.

We are thrilled to be honoring longtime Penland friends and instructors Cynthia Bringle and Edwina Bringle as our 2017 Outstanding Artist Educators.

 

This year's auction tables will feature woven centerpieces crafted by six Penland artists:

And the beautiful mugs for this year's event are being made by Jacob Herrmann and Heather McLelland of Devon Court Pottery.
